AHEPA Chapter 215 is raising funds as part of the AHEPA Service Dogs for Warriors National Project to train and provide service dogs to veterans at no cost to the veterans.

A specially trained PTSD dog can provide a sense of security, calming effects, and physical exercise that can make a positive difference in the life of those that suffer with post-traumatic stress disorder. The AHEPA Service Dogs for Warriors program directs funds towards purchasing and training service dogs for local veterans in need.

Benefits of a Trained Service Dog

  • Comfort veterans when sensing an anxiety attack
  • Wake veterans from a nightmare
  • Provide reassurance to veterans when feeling threatened or crowded
  • Encourage veterans to venture outdoors
  • Help veterans reconnect with friends and loved ones
  • Help to transition veterans back to civilian life!
